The Background of Fabulous Mom®

Since its inception in July 2004, Fabulous Mom® has become one of Malaysia’s leading nursing maternity lingerie labels and one of Malaysia’s favourite breastfeeding stores. 

Fabulous Mom® was founded by Vivian Foo, an ardent breastfeeding mom of 2, who had a background and professional career in Public Relations and Marketing. 

Fabulous Mom® started with designing, producing and distributing its own line of nursing maternity bras through its own online store in July 2004 – it was at a time when Malaysia and international markets offered very little variety for good quality yet practical, fashionable and affordable nursing bras for breastfeeding mothers.  Fabulous Mom® was very welcome by the Malaysian breastfeeding moms who were more aware of the benefits of breastfeeding and would like to breastfeed longer.

Vivian is also a certified lactation counsellor, currently attached to University Malaya Medical Centre on a voluntary basis.  She is furthering her study in this field, hoping to help more mothers to breastfeed longer.

Today, products under the label of Fabulous Mom® are not limited to only nursing bras, but also some other mothering aids, namely washable bra pads, tummy binder, tummy tube, etc…, Fabulous Mom® strives to design and produce more products in the future.

Fabulous Mom® is also available in major mother & baby boutiques in Malaysia and Singapore.

The Background of My Lovely Closet

My Lovely Closet was founded in July 2005 by Chan Yin Yee, who had a professional qualification in ICSA.  Yin Yee is a mom of 3, she didn’t breastfeed her 2 elder kids for too long.  She became aware of the benefits of breastfeeding when she was pregnant with her youngest child.  She was then determined to breastfeed longer.  Back then, there were not too many options in Malaysia for comfortable and yet affordable nursing wear.  She started to design, produce and distribute her own collection then.  My Lovely Closet is all about creating simple, sleek and yet distinctly comfortable clothing for breastfeeding and pregnancy, at a very affordable price.

Fabulous Mom® was one of the outlets which help to distribute My Lovely Closet nursing wear to the end customers.  Soon, Fabulous Mom® was honoured the distributorship to distribute My Lovely Closet to other retail outlets too and vice versa (My Lovely Closet helped to distribute Fabulous Mom® to its network of retailers too).

The Background of Fabulous Mom Sdn Bhd

Fabulous Mom Sdn Bhd, was incorporated in April 2008.  It was conceived when Vivian and Yin Yee realised that their sole proprietorship businesses had grown so much and it was almost impossible to run it alone anymore, unless it involved compromises on valuable family time, slower product development and poorer customer service, which definitely unwelcome, by the founders and the loyal customers.

Vivian and Yin Yee then decided to merge the 2 businesses (Fabulous Mom® and My Lovely Closet) into 1.  Fabulous Mom Sdn Bhd has 3 directors, who are Vivian Foo, Chan Yin Yee and Ryan Sia (Vivian’s husband). 

Vivian, the Chief Executive Officer, is in charge of marketing, which includes advertising & promotions and product development.

Yin Yee, the Chief Operations Officer, is in charge of operations, which includes servicing of key accounts and general office administration.

Besides Vivian and Yin Yee, Fabulous Mom Sdn Bhd also has a few staff, which made up a great team to move forward in achieving our dream.  The team is in fact growing bigger, as the company grows.   

Future Plan of Fabulous Mom Sdn Bhd

We will continue to develop and source for more natural parenting products.  Currently, besides Fabulous Mom® and My Lovely Closet, we have also developed other well liked labels like Little Buddy and Joy Angel.  We are also the authorised distributor of a few well liked brands from the overseas.

We will be opening more retail outlets, aiming to make breastfeeding products easily available to all mothers in Malaysia.   Currently we have 2 retail outlets, which are in Taman Kinrara, Puchong (since June 2006) and Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (since June 2009). 

We have set up The Breastfeeding Café in our outlets.  We encourage parents to get together - sharing and celebrating the experience of parenting and breastfeeding.

We have been and will still continue to organise many more parenting events, such as breastfeeding support group meeting, pre-natal workshop, baby wearing workshop, cloth diapering workshop, etc…

We aim to expand our market globally to everywhere in the world.  Currently, our products are available in the Singapore, UK, USA and Philippines.

We advocate natural parenting – breastfeeding, attachment parenting, baby wearing, cloth diapering and anything which is eco-friendly.
